Arizona Christian University is excited to announce the addition of a second commencement ceremony for the 2015-2016 academic year on December 12, 2015. This 55th Commencement Ceremony has been added at the conclusion of the fall semester to accommodate the increasing number of traditional and Degree Completion Program (DCP) students completing their degree programs at this time.
This will be the first December commencement in the History of Arizona Christian University that was founded in 1960 as Southwestern Conservative Baptist Bible College. Since its founding, the university has made several transitions and has grown and developed into a non-denominational, private, accredited, non-profit Christian liberal arts university that seeks to transform culture with truth. The need for an additional commencement ceremony attests to the growth of the school and its desire to be adaptive to the needs of the students.
Traditional and DCP students finishing their coursework in December will still have the opportunity to participate in the spring ceremony if they choose on May 14, 2016. Having the option of the additional commencement ceremony gives ACU graduates the flexibility they need to be competitive in today’s job market. The lessons they’ve learned at Arizona Christian University, either as traditional students or as adult students who have returned to finish their degree in the DCP, will be taken out into the world as they carry on the mission and “transform culture with truth”.
